Big E again! For those of you who don't know about Big E, here is the website: http://www.thebige.com/fair/index.asp
I have been going to Big E for 5 years now. I don't remember much about the first time 'cause I went there with people who I didn't know well. It is strange how your brain will delete memories which are not important to you. The 2nd time was 2009 which was the year Mr.Rabbit and I met. The 3rd time was with Mr.Rabbit, Miss Rabbit and two of my Taiwanese friends. Last year we went there with Rabbit family.
Going to the Big E became a little tradition that belongs to Mr.Rabbit and I. I was looking forward to go every time. Why? Because The Big E, the largest fair in the Northeast, is home to The Big E Cream Puff & Craz-E Burger. It's a New England extravaganza with top name entertainment, The Big E Super Circus, The Avenue of States, Storrowton Village Museum, animals, competitive exhibits, rides, shopping, crafts, a daily parade and a Mardi Gras parade, and foods from around the world —- for 17 days each September! No.1 attraction in Big E: Crafts! You can find any kind of crafts, homemade, handmade, original, interesting, super cute items at Big E. I love to see all kind of crafts. Some of them are boring but there are still good amount of nice crafts which are creative and interesting. They all give me a lot of inspiration.
No.2 attraction in Big E: Food! I think 50% of people go to Big E for the food. You can find all kind of American food at Big E. From Maine potato to Rhode Island lobster roll, from deep fired cheese to deep fired Oreo, from giant turkey leg to Big E cream puff..countless!!! And, my favored are the turkey leg, baked potato, corn and clam chowder. Mr.Rabbit's favored? Anything sweet and cheese!
No.3 attraction in Big E: Mardi Gras and daily parades. This year actually was my first time watch the parade. I was surprised how good it was and how I missed it all the past 4 years. It was really enjoyable! The parade wasn't too long, just about 20 mins, but the it goes around the whole place about a hour. So you can't really miss it if you are outside.
No.4 attraction in Big E: animals, rides, shows and so much more! I always go look at animals. Dogs, pigs, sheep, cow, chicken, duck, etc....so many. And you can pet them too. I pet a calf this time. It was so cute~~!! We didn't go on rides this time, but we did before. It was fun!
And, shopping~!!! There are so many things that you can buy if you want to spend the money. Mr.Rabbit and I got there around 2:30 pm, and we didn't leave until 9:30 pm! For 7 hours, we didn't even see everything 'cause there are just too many to see. No wander there are people stay at nearby hotel for 3 days for the Big E.
If you ever come to CT or MA at middle of September, you have to go there! What else is the best to see American culture than go to the biggest fair in New England States! (MA, CT, VT, RI, NE and ME) If you are living in those 5 states, you have to go there at least once in your life, and I am sure you won't go just once after the first time!
